Hi,

this is my first post here.
Today I've received the Teensy 3.0, I connected it to the USB port of my pc and the led started to blink slowly (so everything seems working), Windows detected the new hardware but, of course, it didn't configure it.

Then I downloaded the loader program (Windows version), I followed the guide on the website but even though the Teensy is connected and I pressed the small button, the loader opens but the menu item "program" remains disabled and the only available option is "Auto Mode".
I selected the "blink_fast" HEX file, but "program" is still disabled.
I tried to turn off the computer but that didn't fix the problem.
I tried several times to disconnect and reconnect the Teensy but even though I press the button (and the led stop blinking) the "program" menu item remains disabled.
My pc is a i7 Asus Mainboard with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
What's wrong?
Thank you, regards.

Roberto

If this is your first use of Teensy did you install the Serial Installer?

For first-time use on Windows, the Serial Installer is needed.

You need to use the beta 10 software.

On every page where you can download the old software (which doesn't support 3.0), there's a note about needing to use this newer beta version. Yes, it's not ideal.

Thanks.
I installed the file that you suggested but to me something is not clear yet.
My experience with microcontrollers is with ATMega8/16/32 and AVR Studio 5 as IDE to develop my firmwares.
If possible, how could I "send" the program to the Teensy 3 from AVR Studio 5?
