The following is a listing of the current active official Teensy distributors. If you buy from one of these companies you will be receiving a genuine PJRC Teensy product. If you buy from a distributor not on this list, there is a chance that you are not getting a genuine PJRC Teensy.

*Update*
SparkFun and Adafruit are distributors for many electronics sites. If you buy from a site that is listed as a SparkFun or Adafruit distributor, you will most likely receive a genuine PJRC product.

You really should include Asia (SeeedStudio has worldwide shipping over $50 $USD) in your list.
oops ... New Zealand is in Asia?

Robin
04-28-2013, 04:14 PM
SeeedStudio is not a Teensy distributor. It would be nice to have a reputable Asian distributor. Also on my wish list is a distributor for Latin America. :)

We now have a distributor in Asia, FabtoLab in India :)

What about UK dealers ?

The current ones I can find are:
http://proto-pic.co.uk/

http://www.coolcomponents.co.uk/

Problem for me is none of them have stock of the Teensy 3.0 at the minute, does anyone know of any others ?

Dave.

Unfortunately we don't have any distributors in the UK at this time. We should have a French distributor coming soon. I'll update the list when they have Teensy products up on their web site.

"It would be nice to have a reputable Asian distributor."
I just wanted to ask if www.fabtolab.com is deemed not reputable or if India was in Africa.

Also I wanted to add that Fab.to.Lab became the most popular electronics store in India and globally, as since May-2013 its Alexa rank surpassed all the oldies and biggies in India, all this in mere 6 months of its existence. Fab.to.Lab.com has been instrumental in popularising the Teensy board in the Arduino dominated Indian subcontinent.
We were the first to believe in the teensy board in India and all others followed suit, "after" Sparkfun introduced it, much later than Fab.to.Lab.

The list in the first post is continually updated. Probably, when the comment was made on 28 April about distributors in Asia, there weren't any listed; apparently one has been added since.

We have been buying and selling Teensies from PJRC since 2012. So it also amazes us to see ourselves so down south in the list. We should not be there alphabetically, chronologically or geographically !! Sales, may be:) but Teensy sales are picking up in the subcontinent and people have taken good note of it off late. Besides, we have received Teensy orders from Europe and Asian customers of ours :) It would be nice to have a Teensy distributors page on PJRC.com

Robin

We have many hopes and aspirations to improve our web site. On the list of the many things that we know we need to improve includes creating a distributor page. Unfortunately resources are stretched a little thin right now, but we are working on some plans to change that. These plans involve the Accountant learning HTML, so please be patient. :)

In the mean time, while I'm brushing up on HTML skills, I've put the list of distributors on our forum. We really appreciate all of our distributors and believe they are all reputable companies. I will update this list as we add new distributors. There are a few coming in France and in Canada. As soon as I see product up on their web pages I will add them along with links to the products.

Robin
06-24-2013, 07:12 PM
I've updated the distributor list and added links directly to Teensy products. There is no significance to the order of the distributors on the list, other than PJRC being listed first because, well.... I'm biased. ;)

The distributors are grouped by continent and country. The countries are listed alphabetically within each continent group and the distributors are listed alphabetically within each country. North America is listed first because, like I said, I'm biased and wanted PJRC listed first. (Also, according to our customer demographics, North America has the largest segment of customers) Europe is listed second because that is where are second largest segment of customers is located.

Robin

I'm not sure whether they are an 'official' direct distributor or whether they buy their Teensy's from either Adafruit or Sparkfun and resell them, but if you want to pick up Teensy's at a brick and mortar store in Massachusetts, the store You-do-it (http://www.youdoitelectronics.com/) sells Teensy 3.1's, the octws2811 adapter, the pixelmatrix adapter, the audio adapter, etc. I don't recall if they sell Teensy 3.0's or Teensy 2.0/2.0++'s.

Yep - They have a lot of the stuff correct, but the one section mentions being an AVR running at 16mhz. They should probably also put in links back to your main Teensy 3.1 page so people can get more details and know where to download stuff from.

Note: I also mentioned some of this up on their Forum as well: http://www.robotshop.com/forum/teensy-3-1-based-botboarduino-type-carrier-board-t9119

Yep - They are getting closer. They still say AVR processor, 72 MHz...

KurtE

FYI - Talking with Eric on the Robotshop side, the key features they list were due to the table up on PJRC website: In particular:
http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/index.html

Shows the Key features of Teensy is that they are AVR 16mhz processors... (Probably should remove that line as only applies to Teensy 2 and 2++)

There was an unexpected delay with the purple boards. More are in production now, so they should be in stock again within a few weeks. I don't have an exact date, and I shouldn't really speak on behalf of OSH Park. But I can tell you this: Don't Panic. More are on the way.

Plenty of the normal green boards are in stock.

Paul, if OSH Park is still in the business of selling Teensy 3.1's one really wouldn't know it from their website. The page I linked above gives no indication that any more are on the way, regardless of color. It simply says, "Sold out." Nothing about future stock or pre-order, etc.

If I see Laen at the DorkbotPDX meetup tomorrow, I'll try to remember to mention it.

But in the grand scheme of things, this is just a temporary shortage. We recently made some changes on the back end that should prevent this from happening again (unless there's a huge spike in sales... nothing can prepare for that).

Hi

I live in NZ and there is no distributor down here (there are a couple in Australia) ...I'm quite happy buying direct from pjrc, and I know it is none of my business ... but there is a radio shack like company that carries arduino products down here (in australasia (autralia and New Zealand)) .... they do robotics, solar panels, electronic parts etc ... you get the picture ...and as i said they carry arduino. their name is jaycar ... might be worth approaching them?? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaycar

EDIT .... I think nicegear is your NZ distributor?? is that right ... I just discovered them after writing this ...

For email, mention Teensy in the subject or near the beginning of your (hopefully short) message. We get a lot of spam, so your message needs to first get through the filters, and then not mistaken for some generic non-Teensy message. Many phishing and malware scams now try to send a message that looks like business correspondence. If there's no mention of anything specific, your message is likely to get mistaken for one of those.

If you want to be a distributor, you need to tell us about your business. Recently we've been getting requests from very generic companies (no apparent experience with electronics, maker, arduino, etc) who appear to have business model of just buying almost anything and reselling on amazon or ebay or elsewhere. You don't want your message to look like one of those, because we just delete them without a 2nd thought.

This is the message we sent:

Hello Paul,

a friend and me run a small online shop, where we sell miniature robotic arms: <url>
We developed an open source robot controller to control the robots: <url>

Since the controller is not included with the robots, we recommend our customers to use a Teensy 3.2 microcontroller.
We also created a simple breakout board for easy connection of the servos: <url>

As many of our customers buy Teensys to control the robots, we would love to also offer them in our shop.
Can you please provide us with the conditions for becoming a Teensy reseller?

I am looking forward to your reply.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards from Germany,

Maximilian Beck

I am not sure why it did not meet your criteria.

To be honest, I am quite disappointed that we did not receive any response. Running a small shop for miniature robots and beeing makers ourselves we love to program microcontrollers, especially the Teensy. We will still recommend our customers to buy a Teensy even though they have to visit another shop. It is ok if you prefer larger online shops as reseller, but please tell us.

Placed just a prototype PCB order (for a non-Teensy related RF circuit) on OSH Park and was surprised that they suggested me to buy a Teensy 3.2 as an add-on for only 17$ and free shipping (which seems great because they are much more expensive in France). Are these genuine Teensy 3.2 from PJRC?

Yes, the purple OSH Park boards are genuine.

Do some distributors choose not to include the pinout card?

Never seen that, at least in Western Europe, up to now. I always buy from authorized resellers in France, Germany, or the UK, and always got the pinout card.

Do some distributors choose not to include the pinout card?

The electronics store I go to near Boston, Massachusetts (you-do-it), in the past has omitted the card (because they repackage the Teensy in a smaller bag). But they have been getting better about stapling the card to the bag (or sometimes providing the card above the bag).

Can you please tell me how to get Teensy boards from Serbia (I need 3.5, to be more specific)? I can't order from your site as you don't have Serbia on list, only (former) Yugoslavia, which doesn't exists for last 10 years and however site won't display shipping cost for it. I checked some of re-sellers but shipping cost is ridiculously high compared to item value (eg. EUR 55 for Teensy 3.5).

Thanks

You can try to order from Germany if you find no Serbian source.

Thanks for quick response, but i already checked Germany (Anareatek), and shipping cost for Teensy 3.5 is EUR 55 which is too much (compared to price of board itself). I could order from Aliexpress eventually, but shipping time is about month or even more, and can i be sure it's not some clone?

U could try exp-tech: https://www.exp-tech.de/en/shipping-costs-payment-methods
Not sure if the displayed shippings-costs (UPS Std €5.50) are correct for Serbia, but you can try to order and you'll see what they really are.
I've ordered there, in the past, and they were _very_ fast (ok, within Germany)

Unfortunately i can't finish the order as there's no Serbia on list of available countries.

I success to order - it happens that SparkFun has lowest shipping fee, and quite fair price (the same as on this site).

Thanks
