Buying resistive strips

Does anybody sell standalone "resistive strips", like those found in potentiometers? I'm looking for about 4 or 6 inches of a resistive strip--like something found in a pot, but in a linear strip (just the resistive material, not the wiper or casing).

Yes, you can cut the softpots up and also the interlink FSR's.
I use conductive epoxy to connect to the resistive layer on the Interlink FSRs.
I have also built strips by simply painting Bare conductive paint onto plastic film or wood.
That paint is rather conductive and probably wont wear very
well. You can increase the resistance by mixing a small amount of acrylic medium into it.

Musical instrument builders of the 1930's had a rather good way of doing this if you are patient: winding fine resistance wire. This results in greater accuracy and precision.

You can find out more about this in on our new paper: http://cnmat.berkeley.edu/publicati...ard_case_study_recrudescence_nime_development
Also I talk about resistive strip sensing in a paper you can find with the moniker "duo touch" where I show
how you can sense two locations independently with one strip.
