Cable recommendation for WS2811 LEDs?

Things have progressed well with OctoWS2811 and Processing... now it's time to build. The design calls for strips of LEDs spread out in different locations in a room, so I'm looking for some advice on which cables would work best in this situation. I'd like the freedom to use cables up to 50ft long, sending data and power to 30-60 LEDs at a time, with small connectors. The original idea was to use stereo audio cables(I work in audio and they are readily available), but I'm worried that they might not be able to handle the power and that the signal may degrade over the length of the cable. I know there are cables made for sending data, just not sure where to start. And ideas? Thanks!

If you have the option, it might be easier to power the strips from different outlets situated near where they are placed around the room. Then all you'd need to do is stretch signal/ground wires from the Teensy to each strip. Twisted pair network cable should do fine for that I would think.
