I got a new Teensy 2.0++ from Adafruit
Soldered on headers
Booted it up and blink worked as expected
Downloaded and ran Teensy Loader to get fast blink to work
All using a Windows 8.1 laptop
Then I tried to install Teensyduino
Had the usual problems with Windows 8.1
Worked through them but things weren't quite right
Even the Teensyloader was having problems.
To verify it wasn't a Windows 8.1 problem, I used a Windows 7 PC.
Booted up blinking and then the Teensy hung.
Unplugging and replugging USB clears it a little. It blinks once or twice and then hangs (sometimes with LED on, sometimes off).
If I let the teensy sit, unplugged, for around 30 minutes and then plug it back in, it will work for a while (including downloading and rebooting) but eventually hangs.
I am presuming I can't return it for a replacement since I soldered the headers.
I hesitated even reporting it, but I thought someone else might benefit from my experience.
