Hello all,

Am having some teething problems setting up my arduino software,
Trying to load teensyduino software and keep getting this error message: Cannot run program "/Applications/Arduino.app/Contents/Resources/Java/hardware/tools/arm-none-eabi/bin/arm-none-eabi-g++": error=86, Bad CPU type in executable

Any ideas??

Many thanks

What Mac model do you have? It's not an ancient PPC is it?

Edit: Teensy 2.0 works on both PPC and Intel. Teensy 3.0 & 3.1 only support Intel-based macs.

MacOS 10.4 does not work at all.

MacOS 10.5 & 10.6 and earlier do not support the Serial+Keyboard+Mouse+Joystick USB type, but the other USB stuff works.

Hey guys,

many thanks for your replies, yeah I'm using a 2007 macbook pro ( 1226 ) running 10.6, think I'll go upgrade and try again!!
" I'll be back "....

Beggzoid, I'm also using a 2007 MacBook Pro (17-in 2.4GHZ). The machine has a flaky NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT. Upgrading to OS X 10.9.1 improved the stability, for what it's worth. I've been using it successfully with several Teensy 3s.

I'm getting the same error: "Cannot run program "/Applications/ARDUINO/Arduino.app/Contents/Resorces/Java/hardware/tools/arm-none-eabi/bin/arm-none-eabi-g++": error=86, Bad CPU type in executableerror=86, Bad CPU type in executable"

This is on an Intel Core Duo Mac Mini, running OSX 10.6.8. I'm unclear on the USB limitations of 10.6. I have used this system successfully to program Arduinos in the past, using an FDTI USB Serial driver.
