I have been considering the idea of how to add a dedicated DSP chip to the teensy for processing more calculations. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations on what reasonable priced/power/capability DSP chips are out there these days? I have been checking out the SHARC as I remember hearing about them in some high end Pro Audio gear a few years ago. It appears they have dedicated FFT/FIR/IIR built into the physical chip which sounds useful. They also have SigmaStudio which is a modular configuration application : http://www.analog.com/en/design-cen...opment-software/ss_sigst_02.html#dsp-overview

Any thoughts on other chips to evaluate or how this might play together with a teensy?

I haven't used any of those chips.

But realistically, the only realistic way I can imagine they'd play together would be I2S communication.
