The platform.txt patch is worth documenting carefully when you file that issue -- the arduino-cli extra params getting dropped is genuinely hard to diagnose if you dont know to look there. Spent an embarrassing amount of time on something similar...

Awesome they got it fixed so fast. If you're comfortable running unreleased builds, might be worth testing it out just to make sure the memory output comes back.
