Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

PC & External PSU on the same power outlet, there is 7mV between PSU GND and USB GND. Do You mention to cut off USB GND (or I misunderstand You)? My connection to external power and Teensy is good enough (0V)

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

You are right: I was unsuccessfully cut VIN<>VUSB second time... For the bare eyes was clearly separated but it was'nt in reality as the mulimeter shows... I fixed my bad, now PSU not starts crying on Over Voltage. I connect USB and blinking continues. However now Windows says: "Power surge...

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

I connected 3.3V to VIN and 3V3 on Teensy - orange blinks, I'm happy. At the moment I connect USB cable cuses OverVoltageProtection in the PSU and PSU switch off it's power output. I'm unhappy :( Teensy still alive :D

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

@PaulStoffregen: Thanks Master to enlighten me!!! I opened that "jumper" to separate VUSB and Vin. (to separate VUSB to 3.3V converter part - I thought opening jumper is good idea) I hooked up a button battery and Teensy blinking again with external 3.3V ! :D However there is no USB then (I...

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

CUT means I separate Teensy's inner parts from 5VUSB->3.3V->Teensy with a cut on PCB indicated by a heirline red line. And then I try to feed 3.3V from a PSU.

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

I can't understand this Pin 5-6 thing. I even not soldered a pin to that "pins" (holes)

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

I did not touched any part of Tennsy other than I soldered a minimal amount of pins (MISO was unnecessary for this OLED) - and no, I'm absolutely sure in that I did not touched PRG PIN (as any other non-soldered pins) I tried to shorten PROG with GND for a short time but nothing changed :( Why...

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

Thanks for the tips. I did the 15S button press without any effect. Of course I immediatelly pulled out Tennsy from the breadboaord. Windows does not play a sound-affect as I plug it in the PC, and does not recognise device at all. No 3.3V - total blackout. I even not downoaded any code to...

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

@Frank B - on the "plan" I did but no in real life! See photo: a socket soldered to 5V USB which is NOT connected to ground (I writing this 3th times). Not really visible well on the photo but VUSB is not shortened with bad soldering. Well, the CPU looks not so nice - a sticker was glued on it...

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

As I wrote in the initial post: I did NOT shorten 5V USB to GND (as seen on the cited "plan"). A socket soldered over teensy, it's bottom part is not contacts the breadboard. I thing USB port also would be killed immediately but that port just works fine. Also, I having no 3.3V :( Perhaps 5V to...

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

Thank You very much! No shortcut around soldered 5V USB. I verified all the pins on OLED panel and no more than 3.2V, even when VCC=5V

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

I did not played with 3.3V out of Teensy - I thought that 5V USB will do the job as the SSD1306 manual says (if I interpreted well).

Of course I immediately removed Teensy from the board - no any sign of life :(

Feedback? No any SSD1306 output connected to Teensy input - isn't?

Attempting to connect an AliExpress 1306 OLED to Teensy 4: insta-death :(

My HW developing career just downfall at the first project :( I plugged USB cable to this Tennsy 4.0 before and it's blink example just ran nicely. After I plugged to this bread-board circuit it blinks never ever, Windows not detected anymore and 0V on Pin #26, 3.3V (250 mA max) :( Can I try...

Teensy (3.2) pin header for IC sockets

Hi! I like to ask the most noob question about Teensy boards: is there exists headers for these boards which fits into that circular IC-sockets/headers? Sorry I'm not a practicing electroneer, I thought that this will not be a broblem but it is for me now... I dislike to de-solder current...

Tale of my 1st Teensy 3.2 (questions which's answers helps the maidens)

Library https://github.com/MajenkoLibraries/MCP23S17, 3.3V - simple and straightforward. (and yes, I already know that I can't left reset line floating) I also feel that there is no HW limit on CS but then why PJRC docs shows CS only on specific pins?

Tale of my 1st Teensy 3.2 (questions which's answers helps the maidens)

I'm not too skilled in electronics (I'm a programmer), but I started to build a custom keyboard based on Teensy 3.2. In the following tale here are 4 questions: Pre-face: - First I played a bit whith "the blinky example" successfully :) Then I soldered the crystal for RTC because I think it...
