Teensy 3.2 died. What can I do?

Hi guys. About 6 mopnths ago we bought 8 or so Teensy 3.2 boards for a project. All of the boards have been working fine except one had just died. I am using it to control a paper tape reader unit. The board doessn't show up as a COM and the chip near the USB port gets hot. Is there anything I...

    Talkie speech library

Hi everyone. I've just read the above thread about the Talkie library on Teensy 3.2 We have some Teensy 3.2's and a bunch of audio boards. Any ideas how I'd go about getting the talkie library to output through the Audio board's headphone socket? Thanks, Steve.

maximum file name size in characters on sd card

OK Thanks again for your help Paul. :) Also I just got the Demosauce sketch for the 2.2 TFT LCD working. Very nice!! As good as any Amiga Demo I ever saw.

maximum file name size in characters on sd card

Hi guys. We have loads of Teensy audio boards and 3.2 boards for a project. We were just wondering if there is a size limit to the names of the wav files on the sd card. For instance, if I have a file called 123456789.wav, is that too big? Is there a limit to the number of characters you can use...

Deepsleep and wakeup for audio project

Hi everyone from Sunny London. My GF and I have got a project going involving playing audio samples when someone walks by. We want to leave them in their place rather than having to set them up and take them down all the time. We want to use the Snooze library to send them to sleep at...

    Elevator project video!! :)

Yep. Sorry guys. Its on hannah's instagram account. Can you see it here? Its very short and its just an example of one of the samples playing. We'll do a proper video on Monday. :) https://www.instagram.com/mubasehannah/

    Elevator project video!! :)

Thanks everyone for the help you've given us in getting our "Lift playing Shakespeare" project working. We used Teensy 3.2's with Audio shields and the GUI, an HC-SR05 PIR and a BMP085 barometric pressure sensor to detect up or down motion of the lift. Here's a brief video showing it working in...

    Snooze library and inactivity..

Hi Teensylovers. I'm working on a project that involves playing sounds from an SD card triggered by a pressure sensor in an elevator. Its all going well so far thanks to a lot of help from some of the lovely guys on here. As the project will be using batteries (we are using 3 AA batteries) can...

Change volume of sample while its playing

Hi Paul. Ive not looked into interrupts as I've got some better results using ping_median to average out the sensor data. Looks like the noise was caused by the data jumping.. Seems a lot smoother now. :)

Change volume of sample while its playing

audio sounding bad Hi guys and thanks for the input. OK, I've got some code here. It uses the Newping library as I'm using an HC-Sr04 ultrasonic. The sensor works fine but the audio sounds really jumpy. Do I need to use interrupts for the measuerment? What am I doing wrong? // Simple WAV file...

Change volume of sample while its playing

Thanks Michael this is great. I see you are using the flash memory chip. Can I do the same using the internal memory functions? As in AudioPlayMemory ?

Change volume of sample while its playing

Hi everyone. I'm having fun with some ultrasonic sensors (HC-SR04) and want to use them to change the volume of a sample being played through the audio board in real time. So when a person walks up to the ultrasonic it gets louser and vice versa... Can anyone help me with how I would do this...

Detecting lift (elevator) motion.. accelerometer or which sensor?

Hi guys. Me and my GF are having loads of fun with our new Teensy 3.2 boards. Been wanting to use the Teensy 3 for years and now we have arrived. :) I have a question regarding a project we are working on. We want to trigger spoken word audio samples. We have the brilliant audio board to work...

    TEENSY 3.2 AUDIO requirements

Hi everyone. We're excited. The boards came today! So when I've done some other stuff I'll take a look at your nice long video. :) This is great. I've wanted to use the Teensy for a long time and now we have the opportunity!!

    TEENSY 3.2 AUDIO requirements

Hiya. OK, we've ordered 8 of each from Hobbyelectronics in York. :) I notice it uses a lot of the pins. If we want to use an accelerometer as well will we still be able to do that? I know with SPI you can just select a different /CE pin for each device ...

    TEENSY 3.2 AUDIO requirements

OK. I assume you're talking straight from the DAC pin on the Teensy board. What about if I'm using the Audio breakout board? (the one with the sgtl5000 codec on it.)

    TEENSY 3.2 AUDIO requirements

ooh. one more question, do we need powered speakers for the audio board or can we get away with unpowered? We only need something small for the lifts and maybe something a little louder for the corridors..

    TEENSY 3.2 AUDIO requirements

Hi Paul. OK thanks :) , well the ultrasonics will be placed in a corridor to reflect presence/movement of people. As its all concrete walls we SHOULD be OK...hmmmm... Ahhh, also, would it be possible to use a PIR sensor to wake up the Teensy from a sleep mode? We'd like to do this as well so as...

    TEENSY 3.2 AUDIO requirements

Teensy Audio capabilities sans audio card Hi Paul. Thanks for the info. Well, I've just seen your Audio board and think it'll be well worth using them instead of just the dac pin. :) I've come across the SGTL5000 before on the STm32F4 discobery and Riotboard. I've wanted to get a Teensy for...

    TEENSY 3.2 AUDIO requirements

Hi all. My partner and I are starting a project that involves playing audio samples from an SD card. Quite simply, we woiuld like to know, if we want to use the audio library (which is impressive to say the least!) do we need the audio adaptor board or can we get away with using just the Teensy...

SD Card WAV files and DSP effects...

Only stereo and the files will be 3 or so minutes of wav... The device has to be small as it will be being transported to New Zealand from the UK so I would like it all to fit in a nice box with buttons to select the sample being played and sensors on the box which the listener can affect by...
