Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

Bill, thanks for the hint on the sample rate. I changed from 256K to 192K and I have very good FM reception - made a huge impact. I had the same overwhelming noise level on FM at 256K sample rate. Also attached a small, wide-band, 10dB RF amplifier before the front-end and that gives an...

Karlchen, Frank (WW4DH) thanks for your reply. I'll try changing the sampling capacitors.

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

DD4WH, Frank_B, and Team, I need some ideas and pointers to get my SDR working fully on WFM. I built the Jori's front-end and previously posted a picture of my setup, which works fine on all bands but FM. I'm not sure what else to do or check. When I switch to FM, I don't get the spectrum grid...

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

So, here’s my latest build. • I took the main board design from gmaii in post #376. I like the idea of using a I/O expander, makes connecting the T4 much easier. Instead of the PCA9674, I used the PCF8574 - simply because I had this on hand. • I used Frank’s (DD4WH) original code from Github...

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

Karlchen, thanks for the great input. I certainly will give it a go. In the meantime I ordered another front end from QRP Labs and I'm waiting for the arrival and putting it to a test. Back to your point, did you also play with the Elektor board ? maybe try out the mod as well? I'm adamant to...

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

Hi WH7U, thanks for the exhaustive answer on the capacitors for the receiver board. Once my receiver board turns up, will try to values you're suggesting and report back. br, Les.

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

WH7U, did you progress with the improvements for the QRP receiver board? Anything you could share ? Thanks, Les.

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

Thank you for the responses. I'm not gonna modify / upgrade the Elektor board, will be using it for SW broadcast reception. I'm hunting for a better front-end, already ordered the QRP lab receiver.

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

WH7U, thanks for the update on the QRP Labs receiver. I just ordered one. Coming back to my Elektor board struggle, I made some progress in figuring out why I don't get WFM reception on it.. First, let me state all other bands are working. I can receive short wave broadcast well, I can...

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

Unfortunately, no luck with varying the calibration constant. Still, I'd be interested to know what your process is to arrive at the correct number. I was looking at the I and Q signals on the output of the Elektor board with a scope, it's still seem something coming out....I need to drill into...

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

Thanks Frank B. Yes I did enable that constant. I've been using Si5351 in other projects and understand how to calibrate them (I think). I worked out the calibration constant for my Elektor board (using an arduino nano), which is linked to the onboard xtal so should be the same across platforms...

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

DD4WH and Frank B, thanks for your prompt reply and proactive comments. I had the correct Si5351 library loaded and xtal frequency selected. I worked a little longer on my setup, connected a proper antenna and got most AM broadband channels running, especially when using SAM demodulation. In...

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

WH7U welcome to the forum, let me see if any of my suggestions help. I'd say please check your the graphics library you use and the wiring. When you say you load the latest version, I take that you get a successful compile, which gets loaded into the T4. If you correctly uncomment #define...

Teensy Convolution SDR (Software Defined Radio)

Greetings everyone, I've been trolling here for sometime but this is my first post, yes, with a question. First, thank you for the fantastic project, truly amazing contribution from everyone. I got very interested and read through the posts (I think) in full. I also put together the receiver...
