    Thanks a lot for the super quick reply! Can I ask why isn't there something like an OUTPUT_PULLDOWN pinMode? But maybe I didn't understand how INPUT_PULLDOWN works... my thought is that if teensy has built-in pull-downs for inputs, we could use them for outputs as well to replace R2 in your drawing.
