Thanks @PaulStoffregen and @defragster. So perhaps I should just remove the courtyard boundaries or ignore this error? Clearly they both fit with even a slight margin between by the looks of it. Perhaps the footprints in KiCad are just overly wide?

Actually I was intending on putting the socket on the PCB, and the pins on the Teensy, just to keep it consistent. I'll try the other way around though, tbh I had thought the footprints would be about the same size but I'll try swapping the 2mm socket for pins. Edit - yep, pin header also...

Just trying to replace the Teensy footprint on my PCB with female socket headers. I changed the pad diameters to match those on the Teensy footprint and brought the courtyards in as close as I could but the courtyards still collide :/ I guess I need to parts with bodies that won't collide...

Perfect, exactly what I need thank you. I already found that the KiCad Teensy 4.1 footprint has the ethernet header in alignment so this should be straightforward :)
