[posted] Quantum Jungle: My new installation with 12000 LEDs+touch+Teensy 4.1+eth

It will be in Pisa again from early July '22, most likely in the Gypsoteca of Ancient Art - should make for a delicious contrast there between the old busts.

[posted] Quantum Jungle: My new installation with 12000 LEDs+touch+Teensy 4.1+eth

Hi all! I've just installed my new interactive installation Quantum Jungle in Pisa! Here's a video of it: It is my newest and largest installation by far, it was quite a crunch to get everything finished for that exhibition! I designed, built, and soldered it all together by myself...

Teensy 4.1 32 pinout led driver board

I think Xavier.Seingard (https://forum.pjrc.com/members/52394-xavier-seingard) was working on one based on the TriantaduoWS2811 Library.

[queued] TriantaduoWS2811, a 32-channel WS* library for Teensy 4.0 using FlexIO & DMA

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say. Looking at the specs of a 74AHCT595 chip, it does state that: Specifically, for the 74AHCT595, a threshold of 2.0V for HIGH is mentioned when Vcc is 5.5V.

[posted] Wobble Sphere - playful art installation

I just made a video of my new interactive art installation Wobble Sphere! Here it is: It is an evolution of Wobble Garden and Quantum Garden, which was posted on the blog before! And here is a blurb of it: Wobble Sphere is the newest playful hardware installation by Robin Baumgarten. 72...

    T4.1 Ethernet board

I just soldered up a minimal connector using just the one required 0.1uF capacitor on the magjack. It works beautifully and the UDP speed tests I've done show speeds over 90mbit/s.

[queued] TriantaduoWS2811, a 32-channel WS* library for Teensy 4.0 using FlexIO & DMA

Yep, thanks! It's a valid point, as I've been bitten by this before (the worst was one a previous projects where I was using 74HC245 instead of 74HCT245 level shifters, which was fine in lab conditions but started glitching when the ambient temperature dropped to outdoor temps ). For the...

[queued] TriantaduoWS2811, a 32-channel WS* library for Teensy 4.0 using FlexIO & DMA

For this project I'm using the 74AHCT595 as recommended in the documentation in the first post, whose outputs are apparently level-shifted to 5V. However, I don't have an oscilloscope handy to actually verify that.

[queued] TriantaduoWS2811, a 32-channel WS* library for Teensy 4.0 using FlexIO & DMA

So, I just tried this library on a Teensy 4 with a PCB that is meant for a new interactive art LED installation. It works! Mostly! :) Here's some questions / feedback: - Defining LEDCOUNT in your own code and smaller than in TDWS2811.h breaks the library, and in fact the Teensy 4 becomes...

[queued] TriantaduoWS2811, a 32-channel WS* library for Teensy 4.0 using FlexIO & DMA

I think so! I haven't really modified the library myself either, but I'm following several contributors who have, for example Yves Bazin, who wrote a similar parallel output library for the ESP32: https://www.reddit.com/r/FastLED/comments/dhvhe9/new_virtual_driver_18_ratio_drive_8_ws2812b_strip/

[queued] TriantaduoWS2811, a 32-channel WS* library for Teensy 4.0 using FlexIO & DMA

This looks extremely interesting! Have you looked at extending it to a second flexIO for more outputs int the meantime? Also, is there an integration with FastLED already so I can save myself some work :) ?

Teensy 4.0 Leading option for Smart LEDs with I2SWS2811??

Hey Crees, I'm also super interested in using the T4 as a platform for driving large scale LED projects, especially with the prospect of getting fast USB Ethernet at 20+ Mbyte/sec going to shovel plenty of data to multiple arduinos. Have you looked more into it in the meantime?

Simplest Audio Out to speaker on Teensy 4

I've been using the Teensy 3.2 in my experimental arcade game Line Wobbler (mostly just using the wave generator in various ways) and simply using a capacitor and the DAC pin to a small amplifier board, as recommended here. I've been looking how to do this on a Teensy 4, and since there's no...

    Line Wobbler: Teensy 3.2 + Accelerometer + Audio + 5m LED strip = 1D Dungeon Crawler

Hey all! I'm Robin, and I just wanted to show off a little project I've been working on called Line Wobbler (project website). It's a one-dimensional dungeon crawler based on a teensy, a spring joystick (with an MPU6050 acceleromter on top), old-school audio, and running on an 5m long APA102...
