I'm trying to use 2 mono mics for a binaural signal. I have these going into a preamp and then into the line inputs on the teensy audio board. No signal is coming through. Am I mistaken in thinking the preamp will bring the mic level up to line level? If I avoid feeding the mics to the audio board and just go to the teensy, do I need the preamp? Ultimately I want be able to analyze the binaural signals so the device knows where it is relative to other sound making objects--a form of listening. Mics are on the sides of the gray cubes, ultrasonic sensor is on the front.

I ran across this reply to another post. I am running both mics into ONE preamp and then into the line level input on the audio shield. Maybe I need a separate preamp for each mic?

Posting a link back here for the second created thread would be good.

Did a couple searches and there is info out there - but not knowing the mic type or situation it doesn't help refine the search or see the right answer.

In general though merging the two mic output would be hard to separate it seems - no better than a center front mounted omni mic? Then there are the electric feed properties of the mic for them to get needed output and have the base reference offset for clean output not causing some interference.
