2D graphics libraries recommendations

I am looking for recommendations for 2D graphics libraries. I can think of 2 different needs:
  1. The case for drawing static dashboard-like images where one would need at least some geometric shapes and text rendering. Charts and other goodies would be a plus.
  2. The case for interactive UIs with buttons and such.

I am planning to work on 3 applications in the following order:
  1. Teensy and big ePaper display (non-interactive self-updating dashboard).
  2. Teensy and small ePaper display with moderately interactive capabilities.
  3. Teensy and led touch screen with full interactive capabilities.
Only 2D graphics needed.

I know these are not ePaper but also look at the Nextion displays.
The display has built in intelligence and acts as an HMI which then talks to the Teensy.
I have written a driver for them here.
I have shown a YouTube video showing part of what I have done with the Nextion.

You might also want to look into LVGL. It is a graphics library for embedded devices and it supports a variety of displays and the ability to use your own display interface that it will then be able to draw into. People most certainly use it for developing gauge style interfaces.
