Audio Guestbook (teensy 4.0) greeting .wav file seems to be clipping

This is my first electronics project (for my daughter's wedding on 6/30!) and everything is working fine, but if the .wav file for the greeting is recorded at to high a volume, there are clacks / dropouts at the higher volumes. I don't understand this, since you can record a message as loud as you want, and it plays back fine, and both the playing of the greeting and the playing of the messages use the same function (playWav1.play). If I can't gain a better understanding of what is going on, I will just tell my daughter and soon-to-be-son-in-law to talk quietly when they record the greeting, but I would like to learn what is going on here.

Thanks,
Mark

SOLVED! Audio greeting clipping

So...posting this to help anyone that runs into this. I took the recording in Audacity lowered the gain quite a bit to reduce the spikes from baseline, and that addressed the problem.
