Hello,
I'm in a research lab that has been developing electronics using Teensy 3.1/3.2 and 3.5s for a few years. We're finally ready to miniaturize & commercialize, so we're thinking of making our own custom PCBs using the bootloader chips that are distributed for the teensys.
Is there some magic going on with the availability of the MK64FX512VMD12 or MK64FX512VLQ12 Microcontrollers? There's none available on digikey, and there were almost none on octopart (bga, lqfp) at the time of this post.
Meanwhile, digikey has 779 teensy 3.5's in stock. Digikey also has 9k of the uC's used for the FRDM-K64F, which uses a closely related uC to the teensy 3.5.
What gives? Is there some way to track down moderate (~50) quantities of either the BGA or LQFP parts?
Thank you!
