Bat detector

Hi,

More often than not this forum post did not arrive in my mailbox, as I am not busy with development I am also not checking regularly.

On Matt's request, the reason for not sharing the 1.71 source has to do with the fact that it has a few unclear problems. If I were to update the code (in coop with Edwin) I would probably start with 1.6 and add possible enhancements on top of that. So 1.6 is the only good stable source.

regards
Cor

ive added the 1.71 code for those that want to tinker with the code (see https://codeberg.org/Corbee/teensy_batdetector/releases/download/v1.7/Teensy_BAT_V1_71_20240317.zip)

Be aware that 1.71 has a few problems that have not been solved. They are (as far as I can recall) mainly interfering when using the TeensyBat for autorecording (as a "device") and using deepsleep. The exact nature of these problems never was found and the reports where also not accurate/clear enough.

If anybody "builds" upon this code please share your results so others can enjoy the improvements also.

cheers

Cor,

Thanks for this, I do not think anybody will be critical of any issues in the current baseline - this is an amazing peice of software that works for me almost flawlessly. I am extremly grateful to everyone who worked so hard on thiis hardware and software - it is amazing and I have been using it almost every night.

Question: Do you want to establish a new repository on GitHub or codeberg.com and allow people to create forks and request merges or should we go off on our own? I have been making modifications to the v1.6 code to essentially get it to where 1.7.1 is, so I will abandon those changes but I have also made the change to allow 1.6.1 to support large SDCards.

I would like to modify 1.7.1 with the SDCard changes, but I don't want to go off on my own. If you have an idea for how you would like to control the baseline let me know and we can begin from there. If not, I am open to advice from the community on how we shoud proceed.

Matt

Hi Matt,

I am not familiar with the way "forking" works properly and I would like to keep the codebase accessible for all from one location. So ideally it would be good if you could simple share the enhancements on CodeBerg. I am against using Github due to the way open source is slowly getting misused by AI.

If you have a proposal how to "join" forces, feel free to share. You can reach me also via a PM.

cheers
Cor
