Hi there!
Yesterday I received a teensy 1.0 I purchased at ebay (maybe my first mistake!). I got trouble compiling the code for the 1.0 in Arduino 1.0.5 and teensy 1.18 so I found both older releases that might work as I read and a forum and they worked, it compiled but yet I haven't been able to load it to the board. When I try so, after compiling properly, the teensy loader appears and the led stops blinking on the board but it doesn't seem to reboot!
Can someone help me out! I'd love using the teensy and its usb capabilities!
Thanx!

You may want to shoot a good photo of it and post it. Lately there have been a few posts reporting similar issues and these products have been counterfeits. There is really no comprehensible reason to buy Teensy boards on eBay.

Yeah, actually I found out in another thread so i donwloaded older versions, anyways I can't seem to load to the board!

here a picture of the board... at least the packaging's nice...hehe, but I'd rather want it to work fine! foto(5).jpg

anyways I can't seem to load to the board!

I'd recommend contacting Paypal or your bank (if you used a credit card) and start a dispute. Tell them you were sold a counterfeit product that doesn't work. They'll very likely return your money.

Contacting the original seller probably won't work. These people are crooks. They know they're selling bogus products. They'll probably offer a refund, but then delay and try to make the process as difficult for you as possible, with the hope you'll simply give up.

The sooner you start a dispute through Paypal or your bank, the sooner you're likely to get a full refund.

I'll do so! Thanx! Next time I'm buyin directly to you guys, lesson learned!
The thing that pisses me off the most is that I was eager to start doing stuff with the teensy and now I'll hav to wait some more!

PJRC is so fast and friendly, I can't see any reason to go to eBay for Teensys. They really rip them out the door. I'm lucky enough to live in the same city with them but one time I got my order the second day after I ordered it... And that was via USPS!

Sorry you got screwed but at least it wasn't too much money and now you found the right guy!

As cool as the T3.1 is, I still like the 2.0 and 2.0++ as well because of its 5V operation and pins that can source and sink a lot of current.

YeeehaW! Good news!
I got refunded for that fucking counterfeit and without need of sending it back (so nobody will fall in the trap again!)
And also, I got my teensy 2.0 from snootlab (uhlalá, magnifique!) and it works straight fordward!
Salut!

Sorry for that, as English ain't my native language the f word feels more like a cool than a rude thing to throw around. Don't worry, I'll mind my manners from now on. Thanx for your help and excuses for my dirty typing/tongue.

I must confess, I've used such language on more than one occasion talking about counterfeiters.

Better uttered in person over beers than written on the forum. ;)

Totally agree with buying stuff from the source, it maximizes Pauls return, I hope.

As for counterfeiters, I totally do not condone them and see this activity as some sort compliment re Paul's success.

The scary thing is that counterfeit lm7805's (!!!) or atmega 328p's have shown up in the marketplace (see long story over at Sparkfun re a whole reel of fake atmega 328p).

There is a reason that I pay extra for buying components from suppliers like digikey vs buying it from all over.
