First Sparkfun international T4.1 (large) order = bad experience

I was very happy previously ordering Teensy 4.1 boards directly from PJRC. Unfortunately with the change this year, having to order from Sparkfun has been much more problematic. I ordered 100x T4.1 boards from them, and at checkout was charged 10% tax for import into Australia. I thought that was fine, assuming they would remit it to the Australian authorities. But upon arrival I was charged tax again, and when I contacted Sparkfun about remitting the tax they said they don't collect tax on international orders. Except they did, so I asked for a refund of that tax. However they had shipped the order in three parcels due to stock availability times, and they had only issued a refund for one of those even though I explicitly said to make sure the refund was for all three shipments. I contacted them again to ask for the rest of the refund, but was told that due to a 'system glitch' at their end they require a 'tax certificate' before they will proceed (which I don't have). I've raised a dispute with Paypal, but regardless of that outcome, I'm not very unhappy with this first experience with Sparkfun.
 
Thanks Paul. I meant to say "... I'm not very happy with this first experience with Sparkfun." Has anyone else placed an international order with them and been charged tax?
