I bought my first Teensy 1.0 back in I think 2008,9 maybe. I was looking for something that could be used via USB. WOW! ~18 years ago! Anyway, I followed it, branched off to Microchip, Atmega, STM, and others but always ended coming back to the Teensy for that special project.
Anyway, I lost contact with the devices once the ESP came around, and got heavy into RP2040 and ESP32's for awhile. Then the other day, I was inventorying all my devices and other gear using a home-made Django inventory system and I happened on a Teensy 4.1 still in it's anti-static package. With it was an Ethernet kit, and a USB host cable. Then I found another, and then yet another, then two 8mb expansion chips. I think I bought these when they were introduced after the 4.0 and just forgot about them.
So WHY is it important now? It's the only device I have that can do HS USB2. And I needed something that could host a USB2 HID HS device, translate it's offered ASCII, and resubmit to a connected PC. And it did it without even coming CLOSE to breaking a sweat. And now that I am digging into all the other wonderful things this incredible board can do, and I am so happy I was reunited with it while organizing all my tech stuff.
Anyway, I'm like a kid at Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory and after ordering yet another, I will have 4 of these amazing devices to play with. I can't WAIT to see what else I can throw these at.
I wanted to share. I felt compelled and obligated to.

Thanks Paul for this amazing contribution to the embedded world that was and still is TRULY ahead of its time!
