issue with teensy++ 2.0

I'm getting a weird issue with a new teensy I ordered. I can upload the basic blink hex no problem, but anytime I upload anything larger than 4k flash space and I get an error on the teensy loader saying download error. If I press the reset button it causes the teensy loader to lock up and hang till I can close it.

I've tried uninstalling both arduino ide and teensyduino and still same thing. I'm able to upload code to other devices without any issues.
 
Found the issue, seems to have been the usb cable itself that's causing the issue. Replaced and seems to be working fine now. Just no clue why a usb cable would be causing anything over 4k flash to be corrupt but anything under to work fine.
