So I was messing about the other day trying to put mini usb into it. Soldered it on and then realized it does not work like that. You need a special cable to decode from the proprietary chip on the motherboard. Then I thought to myself I have a teensy 2.0++ But I have no idea where to attach it. Do ti 83 plus' store there files and data on the ram chip? Makes sense because if you kill the power you lose your files.

If anybody has any insight id appreciate it.

PS ya I could just buy the cable but this is the fun way!

Are you speaking of the IT 83 Plus that has USB?
I'll guess that TI's USB data formats are proprietary and/or someone out there has reverse-engineered it.

To speak meaningfully about USB protocols, you must understand a few key concepts and some terminology.

Here is the USB 2.0 spec.

The important information is in chapter 4, and the first several pages of chapter 5. This is a huge document, but chapter 4 is very short. Please read chapter 4 and maybe a bit of chapter 5. You must understand the meaning of key terms like "host" and "device" for USB.

Ive never seen one that has usb I found one that a guy made his own cutom program to communicate with the ti 83 plus but it wasnt usb

Ok I read chapter 4 and half of 5. The host is the computer and the device would be the ti 83 or teensy of course. I'm assuming your post's purpose was to clean up my terminology so that you and others can understand me better? I think?
