PSRAM compatibility

Just to clarify, the parts that Adafruit sells are listed as generic and have the markings sanded off in their pictures. Their ESP datasheet is listed as a representative datasheet and they are probably not selling ESP brand parts now, though they used to.

If you are going to run the parts at the default QSPI speed of 88MHz, whatever they are selling will probably work fine, especially if you have already placed your order. I haven't come across any PSRAM parts that haven't worked at the default speed.

If you think you may want to crank the QSPI clock up to the max 132MHz, I would recommend going with known parts. If you are putting together a distributor shopping list and haven't place the order yet, Mouser has these good quality AP Memory PSRAM parts that are well tested at the higher 132MHz speed and are cheaper than whatever Adafruit is selling.

WOW this is VERY helpful. I had no idea about Adafruit and this chip. I would not have expected that from them. Maybe I did not read the product listing, but I believed it to be ESP. I am soo glad I asked and you responded. I have not ordered yet so I can use that link for the APS part. Thank you very much!

Thanks Ken! I purchased this memory, installed it and tested with the memtest program and all is well!
