I'm using some TDA1387 chips in parallel with the Teensy 3.6 since some time. The sound is very good, this chip as many other NOS DACs is known for its soundstage and natural sounding, but lack of detail can be a bit problematic to be. I've been wondering for some time if oversampling would improve it, bringing details more to the fore (next to allowing higher frequency antialising analog LP filters). Is the 'detail' part just an assumption? Dunno, but would love to try.

There's an implementation of 4x oversampling for the PT8211. Can the TDA1387 be used as if it would be a PT8211 output I2S device? I tried shortly and it sounds quite distorted. There are mentions to an implementation for the similar TDA1543, but the codes shared by the OP in the link before are for a TDA1543A without I2S apparently. And my knowledge is less than my needs. Could someone please guide me some steps to try the oversampling on the TDA1387? Would appreciate that like a beast.
