TEENSY 4.0/4.1 LIFE CYCLE

I was wondering if Paul or Robin can project a guaranteed period of time that Teensy 4.0 and 4.1 will be active and available. I design and manufacture motion picture film scanning systems, and I use multiple teensy 4.1’s in my design, and I have a separate module that uses 4.0 and 4.1.

My prior design used Teensy 3.5 and 3.6, and I got caught understocked when Covid happened and they were eventually discontinued. I was forced to design a new board set based on 4.1. It was worth it for the speed increase and awesome ethernet. I have a pretty good inventory on hand now, but I need to know how far into the future I can depend on availability.

I appreciate whatever info you can give me.

Note: I attempted to email Robin on this, but I couldn't get the email to go through.

SparkFun is now manufacturing Teensy boards. They are now sourcing all components and managing supply chains. This is really a question to ask SparkFun.

SparkFun's main contact is sales@sparkfun.com

Might also be worthwhile to keep in mind this change is pretty recent, today not quite 2 months. We're also in a strange time of disruption of international trade due to rapidly changing tariff policies. They may or may not have a really solid answer at this moment.

Best I can tell you is the main goal of transitioning to have SparkFun do all manufacturing was continuity of supply, as they're a much larger company than PJRC. That's the only answer I can give. For more, contact SparkFun directly.
