Hello, I am trying to make a controller PCB based on the Teensy 4.1 schematic. However, it appears the mimxrt1062 chip is BGA and this is beyond the time frame remaining and expertise I have to complete the project. Is there an alternative to this chip that is SMD and would still work with TeensyDuino? Please let me know

NXP only makes the RT1062 in BGA packages.
Are there any chips with a similar functionality that are not a BGA package?

None of the other IMXRT chips are supported by Teensy's software or bootloader chips.
If you want to go this route, BGA is the only option.

After doing some research, I am wondering would the MIMXRT1021CAG4A work with the Teensy bootloader chips and software? They appear to have similar specs

No, that chip will not work. Only RT1062 is supported.
