Teensy freezes when any device connected to USB host but MIDI driver active

Hi, I posted the problem details to an old thread https://forum.pjrc.com/index.php?threads/usb-host-library-midi-hanging.74203/ as it seemed a possibly related issue but maybe not and now I do not know if the lack of reaction is because no one looks into that thread anymore or because it looks like only the latest message there is new and thus I did not explain the issue well.

Should, in general, a new thread be started in similar cases?

Starting multiple threads on the same subject is generally discouraged. You should continue to use the original thread, and if anyone has any info, they will likely post their suggestions there.

I have been watching the thread with your original post, but unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions to offer. I have not tried to use both a mouse and MIDI devices at the same time, but I can assure you that I have attached multiple different MIDI devices connected to the Teensy 4.1 USBhost (using a USB3 hub) on my TeensyMIDIPolySynth project, and I have not had any freezing problems.

I was hoping for some debugging hints so that I could find out for myself. Like, where to look into for printf debugging. Seeing no such suggestion, I asked myself if it is really the same subject or I wrote to some unrelated thread from January watched by no one.

I do not want to repeat what I wrote in the other thread, apart from saying (maybe I was not clear enough) that I did not try to use both mouse and MIDI devices at the same time and I did not use any hub. I only tested if an activated MIDI driver freezes Teensy also if a mouse is connected instead. It does, as opposed to the other drivers.

I see that jmarsh continues in the other thread, so maybe this one can be deleted. Thanks Mark and jmarsh.
