TPD3S014 needed

I am creating a board that is simply powered using VUSB at 5v and have used the power sequence to ensure that the processor boots correctly.

The question is do I need the TPD3S014 at all, it is not even on the Teensy 4.0?

If no, then can I reassign EMC_40 to being a GPIO for the project?

No it will never be the host for anything.
So that means it is NOT needed.

Yes, it's only used to switch the USB Host current on/off.
