UL Certification Teensy 4.1

Hello,

I would like to choose the Teensy 4.1 for a future design but it needs to be compliant with UL/CSA requirements.
My questions are:
- Is the PCB circuit UL compliant? if yes, how to get the UL certificate?
- Same question about components of the Teensy which contains plastic, for exemple, the switch button?

Best regards

JulienS

The UL number for PCBs and plastic parts is required by the certification organization when a product is sold in the United States.
The three certifications that are listed fot the Teensy 4.1 don't talk about the UL.

@JulienS: So, you would probably be safe to conclude that the Teensy is not UL certified. A quick Google search reveals that UL certification is reported as being very expensive. I am certainly not intending to speak in any way that might be misinterpreted as being representative of PJRC . . . this is just my personal conclusion, based upon the reading that I've done in an attempt to research my responses to your questions.

Although there are many products reported to incorporate a Teensy, UL certification does not generally benefit products like these that are primarily targeted towards the hobby development community (again, just my personal opinion).

This is a pretty infrequent question. In fact, I can remember only 1 other time. As I recall, the PCBs used for Teensy meet 94V-0 spec. They are temperature rated Tg170.

I can try asking our PCB vendor for documentation. But the odds of a useful answer would be much better if you can give me a more specific question to ask than "get the UL certificate". Is there a specific UL standard like 94 that you need? Or is this the sort of question where you just need any type of answer with "UL" (regardless of whether it's even really applicable) to meet an arbitrary corporate documentation requirement?

Thanks for you answer.

I don't need the Teensy to be UL certified.

I need that if I integrate the module on my own board, then this must be able to get UL certification. (for the whole board)
Concerning the teensy, that means that the components containing plastic (connectors, buttons, etc.) as well as the PCB are UL94-V0.

Generally, PCB suppliers can provide this certificate.
For components, I think the components affected are: the SD card connector, the USB connector and the button. For this, if you can provide me the references, I can check for myself in the datasheets if they are UL94-V0. Unless you already have this information.

I heard back from the PCB vendor we've used for Teensy 4.0 and Teensy 4.1 over the last couple years. Material is 94 V-0. They sent this file for documentation.
