So i'm considering using cat5e cable to run from the teensy 3 running octows2811 (I think - unclear to me if the teensy will be able to drive the scale that I need - but I'm still exploring all options - I still have 3 weeks till this thing needs to go live .
My question is - is it possible to do 7 data, 1 ground through a cat5e cable, or better to do 4 pairs of data/ground? It potentially impacts controller/board/wiring layout. I'm having a bit of a twitch about the idea of two data lines being in a twisted pair together, but I feel like I know enough about electronics to even consider that something worth twitching about, but not enough to know if it actually is.
Thoughts?
