    Would it be sufficient for your app @cdavis2 or possible technically @defragster to just expand the area reserved for EEPROM at the cost of some code space? Maybe use the ESP32 way of choosing memory maps for projects...

    I did see that! It turned out that having micros() elapsedMicros() and 1uS resolution from TeensyDelay was so convenient that the code practically wrote itself. If I need to go back and refactor with a shorter time...
