are the speaker and the mic soldered to the right pins on the board?

sounds to me like your speaker and mic aren't wired correctly. are you sure you have the right audio shield for your teensy board?

anyone have any idea's on my power issue? throughout this whole thread people were saying never use it plugged into a computer. always a power source for best recording. however, i find my best results/ functionality...

No. My code is correct now. I am in fact using pins 0 and 1. 0 for the hook switch, 1 for the playback button switch. Everything is properly working after I made the change.

no, i don't have the wav file on my sd card. the code i was using allowed me to record a greeting from the first pick up. i'll try a different USB cable as well and see if that gets me anywhere
