As I found out recently, it's possible to create "portable" subdirectory in Arduino directory and it'll use it for everything (sketches, libraries and boards). But it might not work with installed...

Just one note to schematic, I'd use HCT instead of HC. With HC you have exactly the same issue as driving WS2812 directly (eg. for 5V CMOS is logic HIGH defined over 3.5V, it usually works, but it's...

It should be fine with 5V too. It is Analog switch MUX, so if you don't supply more than 3V3 on mux inputs, MCU should be fine. And TTL input levels are compatible with 3.3V CMOS output levels.

In theory it could've been fixed in teensy and teensy3 core too :D

Maybe little sync with Arduino core wouldn't hurt (where is much less likely to return nullptr from c_str). Btw: they even fixed...

As it's for driving WS2812x I'd expect Vcc=5V and therefore it doesn't make a sense to use AHC version as it has pretty much the same input levels (CMOS) as WS2812

For the AHC version, that 3.3V...

AHCT - Advanced High speed Cmos - TTL switching levels compatible inputs.

TTL logic levels are: Log. 0 is between 0V to 0.8V and Log 1 is between 2V to 5V. So there is no problem with 3V3 CMOS...

Last time I've seen MISRA C++, it was ancient and obsolete for C++11. For example single exit point results into nasty and long code, one or more variables over whole procedure and so on. As RAII...

It's just a bit older copy of Arduino's WString. Solution could be simply make an upgrade of code base to be up to date with current Arduino code base.

In the latest Arduino core it seems to be...
