Hmmm, cheerd a bit too soon.

I turned on debug mode and my keyboard says:

    "ERROR Followup"

And my unrecognised midi devices do connect but show a lot of questionmarks and 'ignored' messages....

I now resoldered with a new cable and my midi devices appear to be working! Keyboard still acts strange but I've got some progress :)

    Ah, nice!

    Even nicer! :D

I soldered a new cable to the teensy and now it works a bit better. My OP-1 doesn't get recognised when I hook it up, but my Seaboard block now does! And it's...

Update: I desoldered the red wire and it still works in exactly the same way. Keypress works only once.
New info: key release doesn't work at all (also if I remove the keypress listener)

    Also, I...

Alright, I bought a small powered hub.
I hooked up my OP-1 and the usbhost_t36 example 'test' sketch. No luck on midi notes.
Then I hooked up my Apple Magic keyboard and typed. I only see one...

Hmmmm a Teensy 4.1, that sounds great haha.
If I hook up a powered usb hub to my 4.0, can I use the cable I just soldered to it safely?
That way I can continue developing and just move over to 4.1...

Thanks all! I connected the ground to the real ground and now it seems to 'work' as predicted here :)

I don't really want to use a full powered usb hub here since I'd like to keep it small. How...
  9. Did I solder on my USB host cable correctly?

    Hi all,

I had a female usb cable laying around. I cut off the male end, stripped the wires and soldered it to my Teensy 4 with the goal of hooking up a midi device.

    Black to ground
    Red to VUSB...

Sorry, I don't really understand what you mean. Do I need to do something with the usb host lib or with usb midi?

I've hooked up my Teensy and Push to my Mac. On my Teensy there's already a sketch...

    Thanks for the tips!

Is there any way to connect my Push and Teensy to my Macbook and send usb midi commands to the push from the teensy?
This way I can prototype a bit without soldering for now.
  12. Making my Ableton Push 2 standalone with a Teensy

    Hi guys,

I have an Ableton Push 2 and it's a really cool device, but it only works when hooked up to a computer with Ableton running at the moment.
I had an idea for a cool melodic sequencer and...

    Thanks!
I've got some headers laying around so I'll solder them on.
I might have to unsolder the teensy headers though but I'll figure it out :)
  14. Absolute newbie: Correct way to use audio shield?

    19773

    Hi all!

I'm a newbie and ordered a teensy 4 with audio shield. My teensy has presoldered headers though. I can get all the numbers to match up by putting the teensy on top of the shield....
