Thanks for the quick reply! I'll see if I get this running and report back if successful.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll see if I get this running and report back if successful.
I am building a simple test rig for I2C controlled devices (LED drivers) that I can control from TouchOSC. The TouchOSC/WiFi/Bonjour and I2C parts are already working, but what I am wondering is...
Easiest route is probably the WIZ820io. It's smaller and much faster than the WIZ812 and directly supports by the Ethernet library that comes with Teensyduino.
The key to this is likely elapsedMillis.
To me attempting to use a timeout to address what likely are electrical/signal problems seems not a good approach. Have you checked signals with an oscilloscope and verified that that's all OK ?...

;-)
I've used the free version of Eagle for a number of projects. The nice thing with Eagle is that it also works natively on Mac OS X.
For the most recent project that included unusual shaped PCBs with...
You are aware of this thread ?
This is the project that I initially started the thread for I can confirm that this works beautifully. I am using Teensy LC's for these little lamps.
Thanks for confirming that assumption. Not having that capacitor is a design error ;-)
yes, you did not post any code ;-)
Have you tested your IR code to see if it recognizes the IR signals from your remote ?
What Ethernet module do you have ?
Some come with their own mac address and this would not work
The WIZ830io does not have it's own mac address and you can use the Teensy mac address for that.
...
Here's a link to the tips-&-tricks thread. I believe that also includes a link to the microcontroller spec sheet.
What value pull-up are you using on what length of what sort of wire ?
Are you...
In case of high bus capacitance my suggestion would be to use an I2C bus buffer. I've had excellent results with the PCA9600. I've run it at 600KHz over 14 feet of CAT5 cable without problems and...
Yes, I was ging to suggest Hackvana.com as well. Mitch who runs Hackvana is a pleasure to deal with and very knowledgeable.
Before OSH park offered 0.8mm thick PCBs with 2oz Copper I found Hackvana...
It's the code posted by Gene_R in post #10 in this thread This basically reads out the unique ID of each Teensy board and uses it as the ethernet mac address.
WOW. Thanks for the consideration!
For a non-blocking ethernet library that works with Teensy and W5100/W5200 I'd like to refer you to this thread.
Very cool project and , Yes, that is certainly the cutest Teensy ever!
I see nothing wrong with that ! ;-)
Thank you very much for the detailed reply!
I've had a number of boards made at OSH park including somewhat odd board shapes and cutouts.
I was not sure how they'd deal with cutting away vias or...
Well, you don't have to differentiate. Teensy boards are clearly the better Arduino boards ;-)
If you must buy new hardware is suggest you buy a WIZ820io Ethernet Module either from Saeligor from Mouser and the Proper adapter board from PJRC.
It'll cost a bit more but works out of the box....
@HWGuy,
I'd like to apply your ...ahh... innovative reverse-castellation technique to a custom PCB. I'd like to live without the pin headers due to a space constraint.
The question is: How did...
Thanks for the tips!
I asked the same question on the CircuitMaker Forum (BTW I really like Circuit Maker much better than Eagle).
Feaadback was that I don;t need the epoxy as most lightweight...
Nope. These small LEDs will pull up to 175 ma a piece and need heat sinking, which the PCB is doing through the little thermal vias in the solder pads for these LEDs in the PCB. The PCB is also so...
Thanks for the suggestions! A daughter board is really not an option. I apologize for not providing more details. Below is an image of the PCB this is going to go on. The leg pointing down will...
Thanks!
Yes, for a hand full of boards that would certainly be an option, however, for 50-100, with 10+ PCB's per panel that may also be populated automatically I prefer a less manual option.
For a new project I need to populate a PCB on both sides. It's actually only one component, a Vishay TSOP57238TT1 SMD IR sensor that needs to go onto the other side.
In order to do that I'd like to...
I'd second what's been said so far.
The cheapest and possibly most effective way for maginfication I've found so far is an Optivisor.

There is...
Thanks again!
Found it. Thanks!

I don't need "a" push button. I would like to have exactly the push button on the Teensy LC.
Thanks for the helpful suggestion :/
Bumppidybump
I have a Teensy LC based project and need an additional button to be able to un-pair an IR remote. The button on the Teensy LC is very nice.
Is there a part number available for this, perhaps from...
Before you let of steam here it would probably behoof you to be more observant :/
Most of the folks that posted agreement with the initial statement that the website could do with a re-vamp have...
Perhaps we should not generalize ;-)
I've been an Engineer for 30 years and have been called an Artist more than once. I don't like building websites either though :p
I could not agree more!
The website really does a disservice to the awesome product the Teensy boards are and not everyone has the patience or fortune to stumble upon the forum.
Forum support is...
I am on a Mac runnig the latest OSX 10.11.2 and have had no problems with port recognition.
I'd first try to see if you can get your set-up running without a bus buffer, if not, yes, you'd need a bus buffer for each Teensy.
You need pull up resistors between each Teensy and each chip....
I am not sure it matters too much. On an I2C bus the resistors are not there to reduce reflections and thus are not impedance matched to the cable like "normal" termination resistors.
However, the...
Based on my experience with 11 devices on a 14 out I2C bus I don't think it makes much a difference when run at 100KHz. Thats about all I'd attempt on 8 feet of wire and 10 Teensy without an I2C bus...
You only need one set of pullups. 8 feet is quite a bit of distance for I2C devices. My suggestion woud be to not exceed the 100KHz I2C bus frequency.
My question then is what code are you running on the Teensy ?
Did you use the Arduino IDE and Teensyduino to compile and upload any code to the Teensy ?
This forum rule is shown in bold letters right above your first post:
"Always post complete source code & details to reproduce any issue! "
:-)
@localhero
Post some linlks and info. I have suggested an alternate soluiton already in my post above.
@Theremingenier
An Arduino UNO may be a Fiat 500. To stay with the metaphore the Teensy LC...
Why don't you share some details as to what your project entails ?
There is usually more than one way to accomplish one thing.
You could easily do this with WS2012b LEDs (Neopixels) , which are...
If you can specify in more detail what "does not compile" mean we may be able to help.
Depending on what your price limit is you could just design a custom box and have it printed at Shapeways or another online 3D printing service.
