Power consumption regulation - Teensy 3.0

Hey, I'm pretty new to microcontroller programming, so forgive my ignorance... but is there a way to make the Teensy "sleep" (read from sensors less often) and thereby use less power? Or will it still drain the same amount of power from the source?
 
I have the same question. It is possible to program the K20 MCU to some very low power sleep modes (< 1 uA), but the HalfKay bootloader processor is also connected to VDD, so I haven't tried yet.

Paul -- what is the power consumption of the MINI54TAN processor after the system is booted ?
