I asked whether female pluggable 2.54 mm screw terminals exist on electronics.SE. Apparently so they do exist.
If I understand all the terminology correctly, these could simply be plugged onto the Teensy pins, providing a middle ground between breadboarding and soldering everything down. Some of us have shaky hands.
I suppose most people would simply put a breadboard in a protective box, but it seemed worth mentioning.
