I've been able to do USB serial with the Teensy (2.0, 3.0) on my Win7 machine forever.
Now it doesn't work.
For example, using a Teensy 2.0 (as a Teensyduino) with Arduino 1.0.5, if I load the File > Examples > Teensy > USB_Serial > HelloWorld example, I can compile it & load into my device.
Arduino prompts me in orange to press the RESET BUTTON, and I do, at which point Device Manager shows COM5 appearing (with the Teensy "Abstract Control Model" signature).
So far, so good - this is all as expected.
But when I open the Serial Monitor.... nothing.
This seems to have something to do with the Teensy/USBSER setup on this machine - it all works perfectly on my other Win7 machine.
Any ideas as to what could have hoses the Teensy's USB serial on this machine?
