Having different versions of Arduino/Teensyduino on the same computer

Long story, but am finding that for a project I'm working on I need to revert to teensyduino 1.16. Nothing wrong with the current version, just that an old change we made to the Serial2.c library to allow for 9-bit serial (before Paul added the functionality!) isn't compiling under the latest and greatest version of teensyduino. So for this project...and this project only...it would just be easier to use the older version. But I also want to use newest version for everything else.

So question: is it possible/kosher to have two copies of Arduino.app on the same computer, one with the v. 1.16 libraries installed and one with most recent teensy libraries installed? Will I disrupt the space-time continuum attempting such a task? I'm assuming not...but wanted to check just to make sure. They won't be open at the same time.

Thanks,
David
