How do you safely disconnect or eject teensy?

What is the correct way to safely disconnect teensy from your computer?

On the page http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/first_use.html it says that nothing is being run while the push button is held down. So I think that you should hold down the push button, disconnect the USB cable from the computer so the power goes out and then release it. Is that correct? Are there other ways to safely disconnect it?
 
Unless you have an SD card or some such with a risk of a pending write, I think it's OK to just unplug the Teensy so long as it is not in the midst of a download.
 
It's perfectly fine to just unplug the USB cable.

Well, unless you've connected special hardware that would be adversely affected by the sudden loss or power or control.
