T3.1, 1st plug in, no flashing LED

Hi Guys,

Received my Teensy 3.1 recently and connected it to the computer to check that the flashing LED is showing. Unfortunately it is not flashing - can anyone suggest any troubleshooting techniques to investigate this further? I have yet to put the electrical pieces together so can't check by pushing a button or turning an encoder

Every brand new Teensy should blink its LED, if it's getting power and if no special software (eg, the Teensy Loader) on your PC make it do something else. We test every here. In the last test we do, it's plugged into a USB cable and the LED blink is loaded.

The first thing to check is power. A voltmeter on the VIN & GND pins can tell you if the 5V from the USB is getting to your board. Measuring between 3.3V & GND pins can tell you if Teensy is making 3.3V regulated power from the 5V. Everything actually runs from the 3.3V power.
