    Teensy Midi File Player

Ok, so i'm aware that teensy can do midi outpu. My question is, would it possible to use teensy to read a midi file, say perhaps off of an sd card, and then output that file with the teensy midi output?

Could this possibly involve an attiny chip?

If I understand the question correctly, you want to read a Standard MIDI file (SMF or .mid) and then output the MIDI commands in real time (based on the delta times in the file) so that another MIDI device could play them. Is that correct? If so, it seems straightforward. You could output using MIDI-over-USB or MIDI-over-DIN (or both).

If you manage to build a MIDI file parsing program, I'm sure quite a few people would be interested in the code, of course if you're willing to share it. I've seen this requested several times, but so far I'm not aware of anyone actually writing it.

I found this code a while back: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/149476/MIDIFile.zip
That seems to do this but never tried it. I can't seem to find where I got those files anymore...
