Hi everyone, first post here.
I have a Teensy 3.1 board I want to power it with an external power supply, so I followed the directions here (image attached below) and cut the connection, but once I did it and connected the external power the board did not work. I connected the USB cable from my mac to see if that would have worked, but it did not, so I re-soldered the sliver I cut before with and connected the USB cable to check the board. After that, the board works as usual.
The VIN pin supplied voltage is a stable 5V and I have measured voltage on the VIN pin and under the board to check for false contact/miss-connections using both USB cable and VIN pin w/power.
Am I doing something wrong? should I have cut somewhere else? I have tired this more than once and if I remove the re-soldered connection the Teensy doesn't work by USB cable nor external supply via the VIN pin.
Thanks,
