Token expired

I'm having trouble posting to the 1.20-rc1 thread. The forum software says

The following errors occurred with your submission

Your submission could not be processed because the token has expired.

Please reload the window.

Reloading that page does not fix the problem.

Works now, not sure what the issue was. I restarted the browser. I did not log out.

I was able to post a reply as myself (not as admin).

Maybe try logging out, restarting browser, logging back in?

Hmmmm, vBulletin can be a little touchy at times. I'll poke around and see if I can find any info on that error.

I'm pretty sure that token expired issue happens if your browser has forgotten the cookie. I would imagine modern browsers could store a pretty incredible number of cookies, since they're so small, but I do recall the original cookie spec from the days of Netscape 1.1 allowed browsers to flush cookies pretty much any time. It's really pretty amazing anything on the web works at all.

Browsers can be daft at times, even the best one (Firefox FTW), and where you haven't had the page open so long that the token could reasonably expire ([CTRL]+[R], reload fixes that one usually) it is best to either restart the browser and/or clear its cache.

Edit: Tokens are usually a server side 'issuance' used in forms and have a different lifetime (determined by server) to cookies.
