AV lib compatible with teensy3?

You will probably need to delve deep into the bowls of the MK20DX256 ARM chip on the Teensy 3.1 to use the input capture field and analog comparator that the video experimenter shield requires: http://nootropicdesign.com/ve/whynotmega.html.

If you wanted to overlay text, perhaps this MAX7456 breakout module might be easier to use on the Teensy (you would need to hook this up to the SPI bus using 3.3v->5v level converters): https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9168

:(.. i was actually hoping the teensy3 could probably be able to handle capturing, overlaying and drawing on chip by itself.

i will need 5v comparators anyway since i need a 5v signal for av any.. i'm thinking the teensy 3 is the wrong chip for the job.

Perhaps, unless you can get the AV stuff into 3.3v. I imagine the Video Experimenter is 5v, because the Arduino is 5v.

This may be a job for the Raspberry Pi or Beagle Bone Black, particularly if you can use their graphics chips.

the pi is too much of a hassle to code for me.
anyway i wanted to try something teensy.
