    Forum search underwhelming on occasion

The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search:
    SERIAL_PORT_USBVIRTUAL

If you say so, search software. Mind you I actually asked for

    SERIAL_PORT_USBVIRTUAL

    not

serial OR port OR USB OR virtual.

But have it your way, then.

The vBulletin search function can be a bit flaky. I'll look to see if there is a process that can be run to beat the search function back into it's proper place.

Thanks Robin. If it is a built in function then I am not really expecting a replacement to be coded (unless its extensible and others have done the work, meaning just downloading and installing some extension).

Generally the search seems to take each term as an OR (so adding more terms does not aid precision in searching, rather the reverse). As noted above it seems to break strings apart at punctuation, too.

You can also use Google search, with a domain filter.
    for example:
    Code:
    site:forum.pjrc.com spi dma
I started searching this way because the forum search tool doesn't allow searching on 3 letter words.
This has caused me to utter a few 4 letter words :-)
