Summary: someone with physical access to a logged in Mac can take it over quickly with the help of an MCU dev board operating as a USB keyboard and mouse.

Which is some thing they could not have done on their own with an unlocked computer?

IIRC, usb devices that are plugged in while the computer is asleep/locked/whatever are not recognized when it's unlocked.

So, I'm not losing sleep over this one. There are far more serious threats like the various flavors of flash/reader/etc that offer the same capabilities but from a remote location.
