teensy duino makes arduino-1.0.5 tools menu really slow

my arduino-1.0.5 ide suddenly went slow i think it was after installing teensyduino for the first time.

when i click on the tools menu it takes about 40 seconds to show the boards and serial ports

Is this just me or has anyone else experienced this?
 
When I used IDE prior to 1.6 my laptop was never fast - Non Teensy usage. I went to 1.6 with the Beta for my first Teensy 3.1 usage it didn't seem much slower to load. The IDE scans the tree on loading, after that all seems reasonable on my aging i5 under Win 7. The 1.6 update and Beta TeensyDuino may give you better results, there are some improvements for compiling.

Yeah, Arduino 1.6.0 switched from libRXTX to libJSSC for access to serial ports. It seems to be a pretty substantial improvement.
